Our itineraries take you through a wealth of cultural experiences; Inca ruins, indigenous communities, markets and Mayan pyramids. Home stay situations and working side by side with locals to reach a common goal inevitably enrich social experiences. We create authentic learning opportunities for you. Community service projects have involved building day care centers, constructing eco-friendly amenities, clearing pathways linking villages and turtle repopulation efforts in the Galapagos Islands. Cultural highlights are visits to local indigenous markets, historical sights and museums and traditional musical shows. Adventure experiences can take you white water rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, snorkeling and kayaking. Pangaea will plan and organize all aspects of your trip including lodging, transportation, activities, etc. We offer sample itineraries that can be adjusted all needs. Programs can be custom planned for high school and university students and adult groups. Itineraries are generally planned for two, three or four week trips. Crucial to Pangaea is the safety and well-being of all involved. Our leaders and guides have significant experience in their fields of expertise and the destination country. All our guides have current first aid and CPR training. Gianni and Wendy Salvador created Pangaea in the summer of 2002. For many years Gianni, an Ecuadorian now residing in Canada, directs on every summer South American programs for Global Works and Soltours. Gianni has been a guide in South America for over fourteen years. Wendy is a teacher. They live in Waterloo, Ontario with their three children.
