One of the most beautiful areas of Mexico, the Yucatan Peninsula is
the perfect area to build Spanish skills, explore Mayan history, and
work on valuable service projects. We begin our trip in the city of Merida
where we become oriented. There are several villages and service projects
from which to choose including:
- Living in a 17th Century Spanish hacienda where we work
with local archeologists on the Kiwic Preserve
- Yaxuna is an amazing Mayan community working to build sustainable
tourism for the Mayan ruins
- Tunkas, where we live and work with local families for the ultimate
in cultural immersion.
- Rio Lagarto is home to the Ecological Preserve where we work with
local conservationists on projects to protect the native wildlife.
From here we can access the beautiful island of Holbox to relax and
snorkel in tropical paradise.
